Green Bay Packers will open 2018 Season at home vs Chicago Bears

The Packers had requested to start the season at home to celebrate their centennial season, since they've planned many different occasions to commemorate it -- including a concert ahead of the match.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported that the Packers-Bears rematch at Chicago will be Dec. 16 at Soldier Field. The Green Bay Packers 2018 Schedule will open their historic 100th season with a prime-time Lambeau Field meeting using their longest-running rival: The Chicago Bears.

The Athletic--Boston reported that the Packers will face the New England Patriots at a Sunday Night Football matchup on Nov. 4. The"Gold" season ticket package, which is for former ticketholders at Milwaukee County Stadium, will include that Sept. 16 Vikings game and Nov. 11 Dolphins game.

The"Gold" package has long consisted of their second and fifth home games, and both games are scheduled to be Sunday afternoon games -- a fracture for fans who have to travel to Green Bay and who'd prefer not to buy Monday night or Sunday night games as part of the bundle. Two sources supported the teams will meet on NBC's"Sunday Night Football" on Sept. 9. ESPN.com first reported that the date -- along with the complete home record of games -- Thursday afternoon, hours before the league's official release of this 2018 schedule.

Multiple media outlets reported a few of the Packers' road games while dividing the news of different teams' full schedules: Along with Packers vs Bears Game from the season's first month, Green Bay may also play host to another NFC North rival, the Minnesota Vikings, on Sept. 16. A third house game comes on Sept. 30, when the Buffalo Bills see for the first time since 2010.

The matchup with the Bears, which will mark the teams' 198th assembly (including playoffs), is the first of three home games the Packers will play in the month of September. By winning both encounters with the Bears last year, the Packers took a 96-94-6 lead in the series -- the very first time Green Bay has led the show since 1933.

The Green Bay Packers other street games outside the NFC North are thought to be in the Los Angeles Rams, at the Washington Redskins and at the Seattle Seahawks.

The Packers' only home match in October will be a date with the San Francisco 49ers on Oct. 15 on ESPN's Monday Night Football, and their only November home game will be Nov. 11 against the Miami Dolphins.

The New York Post reported that the New York Jets will host the Packers on Dec. 23.

The Packers' house program is weighted heavily toward the start and end of this season, as they'll also finish the year with three home games in December.

Those matches will be Dec. 2 against the Arizona Cardinals, Dec. 9 against the Atlanta Falcons and Dec. 30 from the Detroit Lions -- meaning the Packers will face either warm-weather (Arizona) or dome (Atlanta, Detroit) teams if the Wisconsin weather is at its worst.
